Easy Traditional SOMAS Recipe A Delicious Sweet with Coconut Stuffing!!! #Diwali sweet

Somas is a traditional Indian sweet recipe which is very easy to make this is one of my husband’s favorite sweet i made it for him during this special occasion called DIWALI.

Down south in India this is a very famous and authentic sweet which is made for all the special occasions. He (my hubby) just goes crazy for it, i was so happy that it came out so good that even my 2 yr old kid liked it so much,  this is actually made with all purpose flour with a small amount  of rava which is suji it is used for the crispness to sustain with a bit of salt using water just combine them into a dough like wee do for roti same consistency.

This is filled with a coconut stuffing which has coconut, fried dal powder, cardamom powder, few pieces of cashew and off course sugar powder, this is well combined and then the dough should be ready by now just roll out a small portion of dough and cut it round using a cutter or here i used my mixy jar cap which was easy for me to make these and keep some fillings in the center and close it gently before that apply some water at the ends to seal well and then just for better sealing and a good look and design just press the edges with the help of a fork.

And that’s it deep fry them in oil and when golden brown just take them out
