This is one of my favorite chutney which my aunt makes when i was doing my degree. Those days dosa was my favorite food , Yes absolutely everyone’s favorite too this was a recipe which goes very well with dosa , which tastes yummy. Even now i remember the taste of it wow…mouth-melting!
This is one of a quick chutney of all, yet very simple to make. This only has two main ingredients as we all know that is onion and tomato in equal quantity just grind then tamper it with some tampering ingredients and some spice powders that is it! Done
Lets see the full recipe and how to prepare it with step by step process
Prep Time: 2 min Cooking time: 10 min Serves: 3
Ingredients:
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Salt – as req
- Sugar a pinch
- Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp
For tampering:
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida powder – a pinch
- Curry leaves – 1/2 a sprig
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
Preparation:
- Take equal amount of onion and tomato
- Grind it into a smooth paste
- keep it aside and take a kadai or a pan and add some oil into it
- Add mustard seeds and urad dhal and some asafoetida powder
- Allow it to splutter and add the curry leaves
- Make sure to be ready with some turmeric and red chilly powder
- Add it to the pan and give it a quick stir, do not burn it
- Immediately add the ground paste to the pan
- Fry them well until the color of the tomato is changed
- Be more cautious because this boils too much
- Done…READY!! OUR Tempting onion tomato desi style chutney!
