TEMPTING Simple” JALEBI’S” Halwai Style…a perfect sweet for all sweet tooth’s


For the batter:

  1. Maida / All purpose flour – 150 gm
  2. Corn flour – 30 gm
  3. Curd – as req
  4. Yellow color / Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

For sugar syrup:

  1. Sugar – 1 cup
  2. Water – 1/4 glass
  3. Lemon juice – 3 tbsp
  4. Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
  5. Lemon wedges – 2 pieces
  6. Salt – a pinch


To make the batter:

  • Take a big mixing bowl and add the required amount of curd to it
  • Making a homemade curd is the best part of this
  • Beat the the curd with a whisk and add the flour to it
  • Add a pinch of food color to it
  • Mix it vigorously until there are no lumps in it
  • Then cover it with a lid or with the cling paper tightly
  • And keep it in a warm place over night allow it to ferment well
  • And the next day when you open it you should have a well fermented smell which is very important for this recipe
  • Just take it out and beat it well with your hand like we do for the vada mixture
  • It should be very well aerated as shown on the third picture and keep it aside

To make the syrup:

  • Then take a hollow pan and add the sugar and water and mix well
  • The water should be added only until the sugar gets immersed do not add much
  • Add the color or turmeric to it and a pinch of salt and the lemon juice and the  lemon wedges
  • Allow it to roll boil until you get the one string consistency

To make perfect jalebi’s:

  • Take a Wide bottom pan and add some oil for about one inch thickness to fry the jalebi’s
  • And keep it in a medium-low flame or else it won’t be perfect or it gets burned
  • Add the batter gradually into the ketchup bottle as shown


  • And squeeze it into the hot oil in a perfect shape as shown
  • Just make circles from outside to inside to attain it
  • Flip to the other side and fry for about a minute or two
  • Then take them out and put it into the sugar syrup and soak them for about a minute or so
  • When this is done break a jalebi and see it should have a juicy texture inside of it too there comes our perfect ones
  • Then take it out and keep them in a storage container
  • Like wise do it for the rest of the batter too
