Capsicum Spice Rice / Masala Rice / Left over rice recipe

Preparation time: 5 min       Cooking time: 5 min       Serves:2

Ingredients:

  1. Boiled rice – 1 cup
  2. Bay leaf – 1
  3. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  4. Cashew – 1 tbsp (broken)
  5. Green chilli (chopped) – 1 tsp
  6. Curry leaves – 1/2 sprig (if you have)
  7. Green peas – a hand full
  8. Capsicum (optional) – 1/2 sliced
  9. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  10. Red chilli powder – 1/2 or 1/4 tsp
  11. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  12. Butter – 1/2 tbsp
  13. Salt – to taste
  14. Oil – 1 or 2 tbsp

For garnishing :

  1. Ghee – 1 tbsp
  2. coriander leaves – a few

Make sure to follow the steps as it is to make the perfect flavored rice!

Preparation:

  • Take a wide pan and add some butter
  • Add the bay leaf, cumin seeds, green chilly and cashew saute well until roasted
  • Add the turmeric powder and the peas saute a bit
  • Just add a tbsp of oil to it so that it doesn’t get burnt
  • Add the onions and the capsicum saute for 2 min but not too much so that the onions will be crunchy and will give an awesome texture to your rice
  • Add some salt to taste
  • Add the red chilly powder and switch off the flame
  • Saute a bit and add the boiled rice to the mixture and mix well
  • Add some lemon juice
  • Garnish it with some coriander leaves and check the salt
  • Add some ghee as well to enhance the flavor
  • READY!!! Our Mouth-watering different awesome Masala Rice!!!!
