Left over Idly Recipe / Easy Lunch box idea/Twist in the recipe ;)

This is such an easy recipe even our kids can make it. It is a recipe that you can make it in minutes so you can easily give them as your kids lunch box and it a healthy recipe too. When i was so little i used to ask for this recipe to my mom always! Now my kid and my husband loves it. Here i have given a twist in this recipe as molagapodi idly upma which will be delicious just try it and let me know guys!

Preparation time: 5 min      Cooking time: 5 min     Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  1. Leftover idlys – 3
  2. Salt to taste

For tampering:

  1. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  2. Urad dal – 1 tsp
  3. Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  4. Asafoetida powder – 1 pinch
  5. Onion – 1/2
  6. Green chilly chopped – 1/2 tbsp
  7. Oil – 1/2 tbsp

For garnishing:

  1. Coriander leaves – as req

  • Crumble the idly before tampering them and keep it aside
  • Take a wide pan smear some oil
  • After when it is heated enough add the mustard seeds
  • When it has spluttered add the urad dal , curry leaves , asafoetida and green chilly
  • Saute it for few minutes and then add in the onions saute a bit until transparent
  • Add the crumbled idly and saute a minute or so
  • Don’t saute them longer than that because it will get dry and don’t taste good
  • Check the salt
