Pulikaichal Mix

 

Ingredients:

For Seasoning:

  1. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  2.  Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
  3.  Channa dal – 1 tsp
  4.  Peanuts – 5 tbsp
  5. Red chilly – 5 or 6
  6.  curry leaves – 1 sprig
  7. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp (depends on your tamarind add more if your using                                                        older ones)
  8. Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp
  9. Jaggery – small piece
  10. Tamarind – big lemon size
  11. Salt – to taste
  12. Water as needed
  13. Sesame oil – 3 tbsp

For Powder:

  1. Red chilly – 5
  2. Channa dal – 1 hand ful
  3. Coriander seeds – 1 1/2 hand full
  4. Asafoetida powder – 2 pinch

Preparation:

  • Pour some sesame oil into the pan and when its hot enough add all the seasoning ingredients
  • When groundnuts are well roasted and red chillies when they are dark brown or black in color add the tamarind water into it
  • when it is roll boiling add some jaggery  and allow it to become a paste (kind of semi gravy)
  • Now its finally time to add our spice powder which we made just stir and done
  • Our delicious pulikaichal is ready have it with rice.
